Landscape Design + Horticultural Consulting:
Douglas Landscape Design offers a variety of landscape design and horticultural consultation services which are structured specifically to your needs. Some clients may only require a consultation and list of recommendations; others want a new garden completely designed and installed.
The first step in beginning your new project is a consultation. During this meeting, we’ll tour your existing landscape and discuss your requirements and objectives. We need to understand your personal style in order to make your vision come to life. Inspirational photos can be collected from magazines such as Sunset and Better Homes and Gardens, and there are many fantastic ideas on websites such as Pinterest and Houzz. During our consultation we will share our initial ideas and give you feedback on yours. In addition, we’ll review how the design process works in more detail and answer any questions you may have.
After the initial meeting, the client will receive a proposal detailing the scope of work and fee for design services. The client can take a completed design to a contractor of their choice or may be referred to an installer or contractor in our network. We act as a project managers during your installation, working to coordinate all details necessary to bring the garden to completion and ensure consistency with design intent.
A successful landscape design is a collaborative process between the client and the designer; as such, communication will occur each step of the way.
